Maradona cheated to win a World Cup quarter final in 1986
Maradona cheated by taking performance enhancing drugs in the 1994 World Cup
More likely he was finally caught

Maradona scored 100 goals in European football mostly on drugs
Messi has 400

Re: Cristiano Ronaldo
Yep either would be a pleasure to watch in your team so to try and pick either over the other is insane.

Football can be played in all sorts of formations and styles and all can be appreciated until it's down to parking the bus.

Re: Cristiano Ronaldo
They are both brilliant players so I don’t see any need to ‘choose’

I DO prefer Messi though because
a) he isn’t a massive cunt like Ronaldo
b) he has never played for Man Utd

Re: Cristiano Ronaldo
Both a couple of freaks with their goalscoring exploits.

Guess people always vere towards Ronaldo as even though he's not exactly played in shit teams, he's never been surrounded with the class that Messi has for club and country.

Re: Cristiano Ronaldo
Messi possibly is a more tricky dribbler, but the way Ronaldo has adapted his game and also become a supreme heading centre forward (with everything else) is remarkable.

Strange fucker, but at 34 he's simply an astonishing sportsman. Didn't his Juve medical conclude his fitness levels were that of a 20 year old? So he's still on a level with Mbappe if you like

Says he wants to play until 40. He'll probably be worth a bid at 41.Compare to Carroll, FFS.

As somebody who has experience of such matters I've always got the impression that he is driven by an unhealthy obsession with Catholic guilt...

Re: Cristiano Ronaldo
Agree with Russ and Fonz.

His sheer will to win, driving a team on in massive games is second to none I’ve ever seen..not only in today’s football but ever.

Re: Cristiano Ronaldo
Completely agree with Russ.

Ronaldo's will to win and be the best is insane.

I rate Ronaldo over Messi. Ronaldo has proved himself at \\Man U, Real and now Juve

Re: Cristiano Ronaldo
I have always argued that I think Messi is the more technically gifted and skilful player.

But Ronaldo is by far more influential.
